David's Awesome World

David recently traveled to China after his graduation from Virginia Tech. He has a hundreds of photographs and I'm sure he would share his experiences to those who are interested.

From His Blog below:
Lhasa, Tibet

PRAYER TO THE WIND

I have never in my life seen the sky so blue. This is downtown Lhasa, Tibet. The buildings are build from straw and mud, and then painted. A lot like adobe. The colorful things on the rooftops are prayer flags. Tibetans write their prayers on these small pieces of cloth and put them up on the roofs. The wind then carries the prayers away.

Tibet is perhaps the most amazing place ever. A nation should have the right to rule themselves. End Chinese imperialism.

Free Tibet.

David Loves His Wood!

David's latest musical creation:  An Electric Cello.   Tuned like a real Cello, David manages to play this one, and just about every other kind of instrument he can get his hands on.

David reported problems with an electronic pickup he originally used here, but today says that sound stability and clarity have returned. Woods used here range from "normal" woods found in America to ebony from Papua New Guinea.

This is where we can thoroughly embarrass David, until he actually sends us text and pictures that HE would rather see here.  Of course, he is too busy at the moment to consider this, so we will blithely enter all the pictures and items we want as parents!!
